Environmental Responsibility

Environmental sustainability is everyone’s responsibility. Best Press is committed to being an environmental steward taking a multi-faceted strategy to improving our ecological footprint. Best Press earned certificates as Chain-of-Custody Printers from both the Forest Stewardship Council and the SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative). Chain-of-Custody is the process of assuring end consumers that what they receive was made with materials from a responsibly managed forest.

Best Press demonstrates commitment to eco-friendly practices in many ways:

• Reclaiming paper waste and trimmings by recycling 65-70 tons of paper monthly on average saving more than 6,000 cubic feet of landfill space and over 1,000 trees.
• Recycling over 8 tons of aluminum printing plates annually saving more than 101,000-kilowatt hours of electricity.
• Minimizing water used/wasted by installing a single water processing system that supplies water to a single fountain solution tank that feeds all the presses.
• Recycling worn press rollers by replacing the rubber, eliminating additional waste disposal.
