Best Press earns coveted environmental certification
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI), the two dominant, non-profit forestry certification agencies in North America awarded the Chain of Custody environmental certifications. “Best Press is honored to accept this recognition”, said Michael Heischman, Chief Operations Officer. “ This kind of environmental award isn’t just about collecting and recycling paper. It is about responsibly using natural resources by monitoring operations from the time the tree is harvested to production of the final product to ensure environmental responsibility. It is practicing sustainable forestry management so that needs of current generations are met without compromising needs of future generations”.
Best Press has used green practices for many years. For example, more than 8 tons of aluminum printing plates are recycled annually saving over 101,000 kilowatt hours of electricity. On average 65-70 tons of paper each month is recycled saving more than 6,000 cubic feet of landfill space and over 1,000 trees. For more information see www.fscus.org and www.sfiprogram.org.
